Waterfront Project | Building Wrap Up
In our last article, we finished the final two buildings in this series, the MTL Surf Shop and the MTL Taffy Company. We still need to build several of the pier sets in the series but I have the feeling I’ll need to do a bit of cutting and chopping of these piers in order to fit the final scene, so I’ll hold off on these until the layout construction begins.
After having built and photographed each kit, I’d put it up on a shelf and move on to the next. Today I decided to have a good look at them altogether, to see how well they work visually as a group. I know I’ll have to add weathering here and there on these kits in order to make them blend together, so I thought I should take a couple of photos for an objective reference.
I have to admit, I did enjoy the feeling of satisfaction seeing this group of buildings together! It’s also fun now to look at them and begin visualizing where they’ll go on the upcoming layout. The additional pier kits, I can now see, are going to play a huge role on our layout, lining our waterfront and adding definition and purpose to our small Florida town.
The next step will be the actual track plan but for the moment, I just wanted to share some photos and thank all of our readers for taking this Waterfront Project construction journey with us here at Ztrains.
