Two Union Station Track Plans For Ztrack Magazine
In recent months, American Z Line has been producing an amazing amount of heavyweight passenger car bodies in a wide variety of road names. Rob Kluz over at Ztrack Magazine thought it would make for a fun project to come up with a Union Station-themed track plan as a place to highlight these models, then he thought two track plans would be even better!
He asked me to work on these plans with him and after lots of coffee; I developed these plans based on Rob’s ideas.
Track Plan A
This plan focuses on storing and showcasing the AZL passenger cars with over 78’ of track. A single loop moves around the layout and drops down under the road leading to the station.
Track Plan B
This plan is more operations-based with trains passing through the yard, this layout has over 81’ of track.
As Rob writes in the Ztrack article, these plans are all about dense trackage in order to showcase your Z scale collection. Still, at 2’ x 6’, these plans could easily be adapted to Z-Bend Module standards. Have fun, poke around the original AnyRail files and see if there are any ideas waiting for you in here!
